Lemon groves on Lake Garda

A visit to the lemon groves of Lake Garda is undoubtedly a must. It is widely believed that lemons were introduced on Lake Garda by the friars of the Convent of San Francesco di Gargnano at the end of the 18th century. Evidence includes the bas-reliefs depicting this fruit on the cloister capitals.

The Pra de la Fam lemon grove is considered by many to be the best example of lemon grove in the area also for its particular location in the land of Tignale. The village and its lemon grove are undoubtedly a place of rare uniqueness and beauty.
